PhotoArtDoc - a photography festival at the intersection of documentary and art. Such photography aims not only to capture reality but also provides authors with broad opportunities to explore and interpret events, phenomena, and trends in contemporary society. Today, this is one of the most sought-after fields in photography, drawing authors worldwide who seek to make sense of reality.

PROGRAM

PhotoArtDoc is an opportunity to create and present projects to the audience about Belarus, about the destinies of Belarusians, and about the experiences they are currently living through. It serves as a bridge to the future, a chance to see colleagues and their creativity, and an opportunity for personal development and progress.

The number of spots in mentor groups is limited.

Who can apply for PhotoArtDoc educational program?
The project is open to all Belarusian authors, regardless of their skill level and experience in photography, as well as their place of residence. The primary criterion is a desire to develop in the field of documentary and project photography.
The age of participants is 18+.

MENTORS OF THE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM

SIARHEI
HUDZILIN

Belarusian photographer, lives in Lithuania. Studied Media and Communication at the European Humanities University (Lithuania).
Since 2005, he has been actively involved in photography and journalism. Starting from 2011, he has focused on developing his own documentary projects and collaborating with various international media outlets, including The New York Times, Gazeta Wyborcza, Nasha Niva, Russian Reporter Magazine Online, Svenska Dagbladet (Sweden), Stern Online (Germany), National Geographic (USA), ELLE-Russia, Meduza, Forbes-Russia, Forbes-Latvia, and The Village (Belarus).

KATERINA
KOUZMITCHEVA

Belarusian photographer,
lives in Poland.
She works at the intersection of the genres of documentary and art photography.
A graduate of the Academy of Documentary and Art Photography "Fotografika" (St. Petersburg, Russia), Holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław, Poland. Winner of the international photography competitions TIFA and BIFA and a recipient of the Gaude Polonia grant from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of Poland. Member of the international photojournalist association WOMEN PHOTOGRAPH. Her work has been published in Bird in Flight, Monovisions, Dodho, and other magazines.

TATSIANA
TKACHEVA

Belarusian photographer,
lives in Germany.
Laureate of Belarusan and international competitions, including the Bureau of the Month of Photography Award in Minsk, World Press Photo Award, etc. She has participated in collective and personal exhibitions in Belarus, Germany, Russia, France, Italy, Georgia, Lithuania, etc. Participated in collective and personal exhibitions in Belarus, Germany, Russia, France, Italy, Georgia, Lithuania and others. Graduated from the Academy of Documentary and Art Photography "Fotografika" (2015) and International class for Photojournalism and Documentary Photography at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Hannover (Germany, 2022). Collaborates with Belarusian and foreign media, including The Guardian, Takaya Dela, Republic, Novaya Gazeta (Europe), Der Spiegel, De Volkskrant, 6Mois, Meduza.io.

During the course, students will study and explore the possibilities of various mediums and create a coherent visual statement on various topics. They will study the tactics of promoting their projects. They will go through all the stages of working on a personal project: from the idea and search for a visual solution to the presentation of the work at a portfolio review and subsequent publication, participation in an exhibition, etc.
